1. Introduction

Persona ("we", "us") provides an AI character chat platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account info: email address, display name, avatar, and authentication identifiers.
  • Content you create: characters, conversations, messages, and uploaded images.
  • Usage data: credits consumed, subscription tier, device/browser metadata.
  • Payment data: processed by our payment provider (Stripe or Paddle). We never store full card details.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate the chat service and generate AI responses.
  • To manage your account, subscription, and credit balance.
  • To improve service quality and prevent abuse.
  • To send service-related emails (you can opt out of marketing emails).

4. AI Processing

Messages you send are transmitted to our AI providers (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic) to generate responses. Providers process content under their own policies and do not use your conversations to train their models when accessed through our API.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers strictly necessary to operate Persona (hosting, AI providers, payments) and when required by law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your characters, conversations, and profile within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Contact us at privacy@persona.app.

8. Children

Persona is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app.
